My Review!

Thank you author for the review copy. The book is a collection of 13 short stories from different parts of India. All of these are rarely known. The title totally justifies with the stories. The stories are simple. I am not a huge fan of love stories but I really liked the book as it didn’t have any sugar coating. The book travels through different timelines with different people. The stories are small, which makes it an easy and quick read. The stories are unique as they are hardly known to anyone. The stories are about people who struggled for their love or even were killed for their love. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who likes to read romance genre. I don’t like love stories a lot so, I gave it 4 stars.

That Journey With Him Book Review

Title: That Journey With Him

My Review

The story deals with the protagonists: Karthik and Sanjana. Sanjana loves to collect old coins and Karthik sends her some old coins as an unknown lover. When they meet on a train, Karthik gives her his kindle to read a book ” That Journey With Him”. This story revolves around friendship and love. I felt the book was dragged. The story contained a lot of narrators. There were a lot of abusive words which I hated about the book.Little grammatic errors made it even worse.Language can be better. The only thing I liked about the book were character and how they were defined. If it wouldn’t have read it as a romance novel but a fiction, it may have been better.I would not recommend this book. The plot was not interesting instead much was predictable. The title and cover don’t go with the story.

Glitter and Gloss Book Review

Blurb

Misha is a makeup artist who, after a series of mishaps and twists and turns, falls madly in love with Akshay who reciprocates her love with ardour. The only hitch in this perfect romance is her prospective sister-in-law who thinks Misha is everything a Bahu shouldn’t be: garrulous, geeky, gawky, gainfully employed (especially the last bit). The questions are will Misha win Didi (and the Kha-Pee Panchayat) over with her Stepford Wife Act? Will she continue to be the poster child for the inherent evils of the Bahu Brigade? Or will she learn to ‘lau’ herself before the whole world and its wife can do the same?

My Review

Thanks author for the review copy. The book is a romcom. The book was like I am reading bollywood dramatic movie. The book is a light read.Misha worked in a M.A.C depatment. The book rather seemed like an ad for M.A.C.,names of each and every product they used was metioned. Misha worked with Poulomi, her best friend. The potrayal of their frienship was not good.Misha’s charachter was displayed very well. The circumstances she had to face through and the decisions taken by her were described well. The book contains light comedy. The book contains how Akshay’s elder sister and Misha are trying to accept each other while they both have different worlds. Misha is trying to be a ”good” bahu of Aggarwal family while trying to manage everything at work while didi (Akshay’s elder sister) had different opinion.

Unlocked Silences Book Review

Blurb

Unlocked Silences is a collection of abstracts, poems and excerpts written on tissue papers over a couple of years. It is a dive deep into the circles of emotion, empathy, acceptance, healing and insights into a different perspective towards life. In the voice of a budding adolescent, the book cascades into day-to day-shortcomings, carved into poetry and at the same time, embraces you in silence and stillness of thought. The book is an attempt to connect with the reader, to reflect upon them, unbiased and together and embrace a new beginning. With simplified use of grammar and vocabulary, this book seeks nothing but the companionship of all. With this debut book, the author aims to connect to one and to all in the message and purpose of existence, the aid of spirituality and an ode to a beautiful journey called life

MY REVIEW

Thanks author for the review copy! The book is a collection of different poems and abstracts by the author. It was the first poetry book because I thought that the poems must be difficult to understand but the poems are amazing, it is easy to read and understand them. The language used is simple. The book is a fast read. I love black colour and I found the cover very attractive. There are many beautiful lines (if I started telling them I may rewrite the book) in this book but I loved the line
”If you can not run, you can walk
If you can not walk,
You can give it a shot- you can crawl”
I love the writing style of author. It is short and sweet. Each poem is expressed beautifully! You can see some words repeated at some points in the second half of the book. This was the only thing that I didn’t like in the book. You should definitely read this book, you won’t regret it.

Catharsis and Beyond Book Review

These are the delicate yet strong strings of a sensitive soul. Mostly they are cathartic but sometimes they are beyond that… The moods vary from spiritual currents to a passive resistance of the inner struggle through a female heart or from the balanced harmonious life to the ecstasy of complete freedom. The absurdity of social culture finds the satirical tune in few verses and some are the quiet expedition into the agitated mind.

My Review

The book is a really fast read. It just contains 83 pages with beautiful pictures. The book is just authors perspective on life and different aspects of it. The book is a poetry genre. The book contains 44 different poems, all the perspective of the author on different topics. I finished this book in less than half an hours time. The poems are simple, they aren’t very hard to understand and the words are simple. I didn’t love each and every poem but some poems are so beautiful. I loved the poem ”Enviable”. The book starts with the quote ”Leaning to unlearn the known, to explore the unknown”.
